Massey University is a hive of innovation and invention. Many of these discoveries have the power to change the world. Yet, our researchers often struggle to find funding to support the development of ideas. The Innovation Fund was established to support the most promising early stage research projects being developed by our talented staff and students.
Massey University is home to some of the greatest minds in the world. Every day our researchers are making discoveries like finding a cure for treatment-resistant TB, or developing an environmentally-friendly treatment to grow bigger, healthier and more resistant plants to feed the world.
Funding is often difficult to find for early stage research projects as they require relatively small sums of money (between $10,000 and $50,000) to validate ideas so that they can reach the 'proof of concept' stage where they might attract larger scale funding. The result is that many promising projects disappear before they even reach proof of concept.
The Foundation is now working alongside the Massey University Commercialisation team to identify some of the most promising and appealing early stage research projects and is actively seeking donations to fund the required research.
