Make a difference to students and staff at Massey

The Direct from Salary Giving programme is a simple and powerful way for Massey University staff to support causes they care about within our university community, while receiving an immediate tax benefit.

All donations are held on trust and administered by the Massey University Foundation, a registered charity (CC27593). The Foundation is an independent legal entity, separate from the University and governed by a Board of trustees.

The University matches every donation made through the scheme to double the impact of your gift.

Support a Better World

There are many funds that you can support including Wildbase, hardship bursaries or research funds. This year the Foundation is encouraging staff to support its For A Better World Campaign which focuses on an academic scholarship fund, and support for staff through the Achiever Fund and the Academic Excellence Fund. But it’s your choice.

How does it work?

The Foundation's Do Something Good programme, also known as Direct from Salary Giving or Payroll Giving, enables you to donate directly from your fortnightly pay to a fund of your choice within the Massey University Foundation.

Match-funding
Massey University generously match-funds donations made, meaning every donation you make from your salary is doubled before it reaches us here at the Foundation.

Tax rebate
You will receive an immediate tax relief of 33.3% on donations of $5 or more. This means a donation of $10 will cost you $6.67 out of your pay - you do not need to wait to claim a rebate at the end of the tax year.

Choose your fund
Whether it's endangered native wildlife, student scholarships or staff support, there are many funds to choose from, and you can rest assured knowing 100% of your donation will reach the fund of your choice.
